Locally grown and pressed! An ancient oil seed crop of Celtic Europe. Also known as wild flax, German Sesame or Siberian Oil Seed. Camelina has been domesticated and used extensively in Europe for several 100 years but has not been approved by the FDA in the USA for use as a food source due to potential alternative fuel/food conflicts. This oil is dietary supplement grade but not food grade. As a supplement, it contains up to 45% Omega-3 fatty acids as well as vitamin E. Camelina also has a unique anti-oxident complex making it very stable and resistant to heat and rancidity. -Locally grown in the Willamette Valley as well as Eastern Oregon -Not organic but is non-gmo, and grown without pesticides and chemical spray. -Cold-pressed with no chemical processing. -With cooking, best used in low-heat or finishing. -Chefs in Portland have been using this in dressings and garnish. They have reported loving the results. Very flavorful.
